The Danganronpa Cosplay Collective is a group of 18+ Danganronpa Cosplayers who collaborate to create unique fan content for live-streamed entertainment on YouTube. It is all done for fun, and love of Danganronpa!

This is a Cosplay Panel Group like no other. Themed panels with collaboration between host, cosplayers and audience, a la improvisational theatre. We're looking for cosplayers willing to dip their toes in something new and exciting!

Audition Requirements/Considerations

▫️ This group's panels will have lots of ship-focused content, and for that reason, all participants must be 18 or older.
▫️ You must have a Discord. Discord is the group's form of communication.
▫️ You must have a TikTok.
▫️ You must be able to use Zoom. Camera quality will not affect your chance of being selected. Please try to have some sort of microphone available, though. The one attached to most headphones is just fine.
▫️ You must be okay with being live-streamed on YouTube.
▫️ "Rehearsals" will be scheduled as needed, around cosplayers' availability. I understand we are all adults and have lives!
▫️ Catgrump lives in EST, so planning will be based around EST. We are accepting cosplayers who live in all time zones. We regularly plan panels around European Time and PST so everyone gets a chance to participate. Panels typically fall on EST evenings and weekends.
▫️ You may audition for as many characters as you'd like, but at the moment, each cosplayer is only able to portray a maximum of 4 characters in the group, so as not to overwhelm them.
▫️ IMPORTANT THING TO CONSIDER FOR COSPLAYERS AUDITIONING FOR MONOKUMA AND/OR USAMI: These characters will have a more active role as a host figure for some panels. Please keep in mind that you will be working directly with Catgrump to go over how to host certain panels if you are given a spot as one of these characters.

The Process

Step 1: Audition!
▫️ Fill out the Google Form at the bottom of this page.
▫️ You can audition for as many characters as you'd like, but if you would like to audition for more than 4, you must fill out the form more than once.
▫️ Please be sure to select three videos for each character you wish to audition for. The videos you choose should be a representation of your interpretation of the character.
▫️ The video can be one you've previously filmed, or you can make a new one.
▫️ Catgrump and their mods may also browse your TikTok for other examples of your interpretations should that be necessary.
▫️ You may be asked questions about your portrayal of characters in Discord DMs or email, depending on the backstories/source material of particular characters.

Step 2: Casting!
▫️ Catgrump will reach out to you via email to inform you of your results regardless of whether or not you've been cast. She may DM you on Discord if you do not respond to the casting email.
▫️ If you have been cast, you will be invited to our Discord server. Congratulations!
▫️ Each character will have THREE cosplayers able to portray them, plus 2 Understudies.

Step 3: Rehearsals!
▫️ These are done primarily as prep for the cosplayers before panels.
▫️ Some panels will require more prep-work and collaboration, like the game shows, so rehearsals for these will be done as needed, scheduled around cosplayers' availability.
▫️ Rehearsals will be done via Discord.
▫️ Rehearsals will function as Practice Panels, running through sample questions and trial runs of the game shows.
▫️ Catgrump may also hold "beta test" rehearsals to test out a new panel idea. Participation in these is not mandatory.
▫️ Rehearsals are also opportunities for cosplayers to collaborate with each other and Catgrump for ideas for how the panel should/could go!
▫️ All cosplayers portraying characters with popular ships are strongly encouraged to discuss ship-related boundaries together before panels. If the conversation is not had on their own, Catgrump will initiate it herself.

Step 4: Panels!
▫️ Panels will be held over Zoom, live-streamed to the Catgrump YouTube Channel.
▫️ Some panels will have audience participation beforehand, a la straw polls! Some will have live participation, as well!
▫️ We will promote them on our Socials to get as many people to see everyone's hard work :)
▫️ The live-streams will be available to watch on YouTube once the panel is over.

FAQ

Q: Which characters are open for auditions?
A: We are currently accepting auditions for all Killing Game participants across the 3 mainline games, as well as additional characters such as Monokuma, Usami, Komaru, Ryota, and Natsumi, however, you can see which characters only have Understudy Positions available herePlease don't be discouraged by this, though! Understudies are just as valued. We encourage anyone hoping to portray a character that only has Understudy positions to submit an additional character to secure more panel opportunities in the group!

Q: Catgrump is a cosplayer herself. Will she be occupying any characters' slots?
A: No! Catgrump will be acting as host/moderator for these panels. All characters she cosplays will have all 3 slots available. She will, however, act as an Emergency Fill-In for the characters she cosplays when a host is not needed for the panel to function.
These characters still have the possibility to have Understudies, as well.

Q: Spoilers?
A: Yes.

Q: There are ships I'm uncomfortable portraying as a cosplayer. Do I have to disregard that when I audition?
A: No! Catgrump will never force a cosplayer to do something that makes them uncomfortable.

Q: Who the heck is Catgrump?
A: Catgrump is a 29-year-old bi enby cosplayer, writer, artist, photographer, and theatre geek who lives on the East Coast of the United States. She plans to use her 2 Theatre Degrees to create these unique cosplay panels! You can follow them on AO3 to read her fanfics (@catgrump) or on TikTok to see her cosplays (@catgrumpcosplay)

Q: Can I submit a video I've already uploaded to TikTok for my audition?
A: Yes!

Q: Do I have to speak in character in my audition?
A: Nope, but you can if you want. Voice will not be a factor in whether or not you're cast.

Q: My cosplay isn't entirely canon. Will that affect my chances?
A: Absolutely not! We do not consider outfit/costume as a factor, we just request you be recognizable.
